Sophia WulffOur family have enjoyed training with Professor Antonio for over twelve years now. With all four of our children, Professor Antonio has provided the perfect combination of motivation and challenge alongside support and nurture. Two of our sons have taken their BJJ training to the competition circuit and have excelled in their divisions with Professor Antonio mentoring and coaching them the whole way. Our daughter (now 20 years old) has a strong foundation in self-defence and has developed resilience and confidence through her BJJ training, while our four year old son enjoys the mix of playfulness and fun that also come with Professor Antonio’s classes. We will be eternally grateful for the incredible level of care and dedication that Professor Antonio provides. As a female training in a largely male dominated sport, I have always felt welcome, safe and supported with Professor Antonio and the community at the academy. As well as being a great opportunity to enjoy a sport alongside my kids, knowing self-defence skills has been a fantastic life skill and a fun way to stay healthy. Top facilities at the academy - always kept immaculately clean - and a comfortable and pleasant space to train in. Professor Antonio’s organic style of running his classes, particularly the kids’ classes, is something that has always resonated with us. His ability to read the children so that he can encourage them to grow in their abilities, while still navigating the complexity of emotions is incredible. Brad BaldersonTraining here for over a year now and absolutely love it. Professor Antonio is super motivating and extremely knowledgable. Very welcoming culture. Everyone trains hard, but also thoughtfully helps each other to improve. Love the hard rolls and good friends! Really recommend training here. EDIT: Training here for two years now. All comments from previous review still hold! One thing I will add is that there is a philosophy Antonio constantly repeats which I really, really admire; "We get better when we all get better." Don't think any statement could be truer. Jiu jitsu is an evolutionary arms race, your training partners improvements to attack, force your defence to improve. Your improvements to defence, force your opponents attack to improve. And so on. Knowing this, and it being the core philosophy of the gym, really keeps egos in check and I think makes good camaraderie. Train! P.S. I'm second from the left, Antonio to my right :)
